Sam + Angel | Cruz Building Wedding | Coconut Grove, Florida

When we first met Sam + Angel, they told us about their love story; how they started as friends, but became so much more. When we photographed their engagement session in May (click here to see) we loved that they recreated their fateful first date, finishing up at Lulu, the restaurant where they realized they had something special. During that time we were also able to check out their wedding venue, just steps away from Lulu; we knew then that the Cruz Building had the potential to be an incredible location for a wedding, and wow… we weren’t wrong!

The entire day was a visual and emotional feast; from the stunning light in the bridal suite to the heartfelt and beautiful ceremony performed by Sam’s father, everything was perfect. We loved the beautiful details the couple designed for their day (see their stunning wedding website here… can you tell that Sam is a gifted designer?), and we were absolutely thrilled by the energy and enthusiasm of all of the wedding guests! Moving through the Cruz Building gave the wedding a definite vibe… not only is the building a stunning backdrop for the day, it also lends itself to a smooth flow: ceremony and cocktail hour on the first floor; transition to the second floor for dinner and speeches; then on to the third floor for dessert and dancing! (And a custom espresso bar… Em was delighted.)

After a sparkler exit on the front steps of the building, Sam + Angel hopped into her Mini Cooper convertible and zoomed away into the night, so much more than just friends. We wish all the best to the new Mr + Mrs and can’t wait to show them the rest of their wedding images! Ali + Chris | Vero Beach Hotel + Spa Wedding

What a perfect seaside wedding! We joined Ali + Chris for their wedding ceremony and celebration at the Vero Beach Hotel + Spa, where they tied the knot surrounded by family and friends. The day was hot (September in Florida tends to be!), but things cooled off a bit as the evening went on, with the ocean breeze blowing in from the water just steps away. We loved all the personal touches this happy couple included in their day; Ali’s father styled her hair, her cousin performed the heartfelt ceremony, and all of her best friends wore white (for Labor Day, of course). The elegant reception took place in Cobalt, the beautiful oceanfront restaurant at the hotel, with a great area in the dining room cleared for dancing… and wow, did everyone dance!

Our thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome on this day… click below for some of our favorites and click here to register your email address to be notified when the rest of the images are available. —Em + Steve

Molly + Gordon | Anniversary Session | State College, PA

We are always so thrilled to see our clients’ lives together develop beyond the wedding day; while we all tend to see most of the day to day changes of our friends through Facebook and emails, there’s something really satisfying about seeing someone in person after a long time apart. This was absolutely the case with Molly and Gordon, who we joined for an anniversary session about a year after their wedding last August (actually, this post date marks their exact anniversary, but they’re celebrating in Ireland… so hello whenever they get home!). After a lovely drive to State College, Pennsylvania from New England on our way back to Florida, we had a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, filled with lively conversation, good food, and live acoustic music: a perfect way to unwind after a day in the car. The next day we started their session with casual portraits with their new puppy, Dillon, then Molly and Gordon changed into their wedding outfits. We started in downtown State College, which has a classic college campus feel (reminds me of Dartmouth’s campus, near where Molly and I both spent our high school years); then on to Leading Ridge, with beautiful views as the sun settled into the horizon. Click below for some of our favorites from this session… and happy anniversary to Molly + Gordon!

Julie + Brian | St Thomas USVI Destination Wedding

Julie + Brian planned one of the most laid back, relaxing weddings we’ve been to… but how could it be anything but relaxing at a beautiful resort in the US Virgin Islands? We joined the happy couple and a small group of close family and friends for a weekend celebration of Julie + Brian’s love and marriage at the Sugar Bay Resort + Spa on St. Thomas. The weather looked threatening leading up to the wedding day (and did, in fact, pour on all of us during the outdoor rehearsal dinner!) but somehow the afternoon of the wedding was hot and sunny, despite the rain clouds earlier in the morning.

Thank you to the entire family for making us feel so welcome during the wedding festivities! From the welcome dinner when everyone arrived on Thursday to exploring St. John with the family on Friday, from hilarious drinks and delicious food at the rainy rehearsal dinner to the evening breezes and happy faces on the reception patio… the whole weekend was one to remember. (We’ll especially remember the pool volleyball game after the reception, with bride’s side vs. groom’s side! Em’s sorry that she was such a detriment to the team effort, but it was definitely fun.)

Click below to see a taste of our favorites from the weekend (including some of the Day After Session we did with Julie + Brian following the farewell brunch)… we can’t wait to show you the rest. (Click here to sign up to be notified when the rest of the images are available.)

Navah + Jessica + Ian | Vermont Family Session

Jessica + Ian were married in Vermont just months before we were (check out their wedding pictures here), and now have a beautiful daughter, Navah. We joined this happy family in Norwich, Vermont for a portrait session in the early evening. The New England weather had been fickle for weeks, but amazingly we managed to have a perfect evening of golden sunshine! Navah’s face lights up when she sees her Mommy and Daddy (if you look closely you’ll see them reflected in her eyes in this first shot), and she has the most amazingly awesome belly button I’ve ever seen… looks just like a cinnamon bun. Seriously. She’s a sweet, generous little girl; constantly giving smiles, hugs, and anything else she can find (flowers, in the case of this session, since they were growing abundantly in the field). Thanks for inviting us to see your family love in action! Click below to see more of our favorites, and click here to sign up to be notified when the rest of the images are available.

such joyous expressions! It’s amazing how you capture them with such seeming ease, Pogophot! I am transported back to that warm, pleasant evening and am glad to have shared it with you all. <3

Jessica DuffyAugust 6, 2012 - 1:30 pm

I am speechless (I know; must be a first!). These pictures are truly fantastic! To choose just one favorite from these will be impossible. Pogophoto showed how much love our little family has and how much personality our little Navah already has at only 18 months old! I can’t thank you enough for the fantastic job you’ve done here!

Amber PalmerAugust 6, 2012 - 1:36 pm

You have a pretty little girl. Have you and Ian discussed arranged marriages? ;) I have a man for her. ha ha

Jessica DuffyAugust 6, 2012 - 2:29 pm

Thanks! As for the arranged marriage; you’ll have to talk to Navah’s very protective Daddy. :)

Jessica DuffyAugust 6, 2012 - 5:31 pm

I’m pretty sure that’s your hand holding the purple clover flower Navah is taking in the 5th from the bottom. & I’m pretty sure a couple of those showing us laughing is at something you said.
