We are always so thrilled to see our clients’ lives together develop beyond the wedding day; while we all tend to see most of the day to day changes of our friends through Facebook and emails, there’s something really satisfying about seeing someone in person after a long time apart. This was absolutely the case with Molly and Gordon, who we joined for an anniversary session about a year after their wedding last August (actually, this post date marks their exact anniversary, but they’re celebrating in Ireland… so hello whenever they get home!). After a lovely drive to State College, Pennsylvania from New England on our way back to Florida, we had a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, filled with lively conversation, good food, and live acoustic music: a perfect way to unwind after a day in the car. The next day we started their session with casual portraits with their new puppy, Dillon, then Molly and Gordon changed into their wedding outfits. We started in downtown State College, which has a classic college campus feel (reminds me of Dartmouth’s campus, near where Molly and I both spent our high school years); then on to Leading Ridge, with beautiful views as the sun settled into the horizon.
