Fall in love with Vermont in the bright yellow foliage

Vermont's heart-stopping fall foliage makes for the perfect romantic backdrop to any portrait session. Woodstock and Hartland have quiet back roads with undisturbed forestry, ideal for fun foliage portraits for an engagement or wedding session in the fall. Traipsing out to the woods with this beautiful young couple was an enchanting experience; married for just over a year, they chose to have portraits made to document their growing love and their new home in central Vermont. We’ve found that foliage portraits in Vermont are a wonderful combination of blazing color and crisp weather, with the turning seasons inspiring and just the sort of thing to make you wish you had a big mug of hot apple cider or cocoa. (Both are completely doable just about anywhere in Vermont, and we’re always up for a sweet sip or nibble!) Our love for the state of Vermont and all of the arresting vistas, colorful local residents, delicious eats, and down-to-earth charm shines through in our images captured during this special time of year.

Portraits in Vermont can be beautiful during any time of year; we also love springtime portraits, with dripping showers and leaf buds, the first daffodils pushing their way through the stubborn snow, and happy bees sipping nectar from cherry blossoms that drench the trees in vibrant pinks and shades of rose. Summer portraits evoke hot fields of waving wheat, cornfields as high as an elephant’s eye, picking ripe strawberries from a nearby farm, spreading out a picnic lunch on a hillside or mountain top, and basking in the glory of a Vermont midsummer day under the bright blue sky. Winter sessions in the snow are equally lovely, whether the snow is actively falling from the sky with a hush of low clouds, or if we catch one of those frigid but breathtakingly gorgeous days with sparkling sunshine making each snowdrift blaze like a pile of diamonds.
