Allowing children to be children is always a good tactic; we've found the same can be true of groomsmen who are determined to be silly. (Don't get us wrong: we have no problem with silly. We like silly.) When we embrace the wild and weird most people relax and tune in to our creative vision when it comes time for some cooperation. This allows us to capture hilariously strange images like this one, and develop a bond with some of the more important people in the wedding party. If you have a large group of people in your wedding party it can make a lot of sense to schedule an additional hour or so for portraits with them; we always get a few formals with the whole group, but a fun and energetic party like this one at Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens can make group photos fun and entertaining for everyone involved.
The groomsman on the left of the image is lifting his young daughter into the air; we photographed his wedding five years earlier, and seeing his family grow has been an experience like no other. We love growing with our clients, watching their children get older and start to experience the mile markers and events of life.
