We love serious portraits, sweet photos of love, and giggling newlyweds. We also love grooms who will pull the funniest face they can think of to entertain the ring bearers before the ceremony. Derek manages to look like a very serious monkey, though he's somehow still managing to look handsome beneath his hilarious expression. Choosing a wide angle lens without getting into the fisheye distortion realm of wide was purposeful; setting this image as if it were a serious portrait enhances the silliness of the expression, which is belied by his formal dress and the elegant surroundings behind him.
The Addison in Boca Raton is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the area for small, intimate ceremonies and receptions. Their walled courtyard holds two enormous banyan trees, which arch together over the ceremony area, creating a shady, private venue for exchanging vows. The venue has plenty of opportunity for traditional and non traditional portraits, with space for dancing, dinner, and bar leaning inside, all with an elegant yet relaxed feel, conveniently close to the interstate and US 1, but secluded enough not to hear traffic noise. Many couples choose to get ready for the day at the nearby Boca Raton Resort and Club, an enormous pink hotel right by the water, which is just up the road on Camino Real.
