Romantic and natural engagement portraits can be taken at many locations on Palm Beach Island, including along the tree lined path of the Lake Trail, which extends both north and south of the bridges and includes amazing trees such as this enormous banyan tree behind the Royal Poinciana Chapel near Whitehall, the Henry Flagler Museum. Walking south from this area takes you along the Palm Beach docks, and then continues all the way down to Worth Avenue about a mile away. This lovely stroll takes us past beautiful buildings and has a great view of the West Palm Beach skyline; it's an ideal casual walk for engagement photos, which can then be continued across the small island and onto the public beaches on the ocean side of the island, just south of The Breakers hotel.
Choosing to use a very shallow depth of field along with a wide angle lens for this portrait places you right in the scene along with this relaxed and happy couple. The banyan tree towers above them while a bit of sunshine kisses the back of his shirt, making the tree's leaves sparkle in the background with the late afternoon sun in December. The holidays are the perfect time to document your engagement in the Palm Beach area; while it might seem crowded, it's actually a relatively slow time of year for photographers, so our schedule tends to be more flexible than at other times of the year. The weather is almost always stunning in December, making this the perfect place to visit for a destination engagement getaway.
